Make your future with us
The Statement of Purpose is one of the most important and required a part of your application that tells the admissions committee who you are, your professional interests, what has influenced your career path so far, and your future goals.
The Statement of Purpose is the personal statement about who you are just like how the name suggests, and what has influenced your career path so far, your professional interests and your plans. Statement of Purpose should not compulsorily be a statement of facts, some successful SOPs can have various anecdotes, stories, or even describing their heroes. Your statement of purpose must be well written whether it is subtle or to the point.
Your Statement of Purpose must be well written since it is the only part of your application packet over which you have full control because the academic and extra-curricular records are in the past and the GMAT, GRE or TOEFL tests can be adversely affected by your conditions on the test day.
The SOP is a wonderful chance to talk directly to the admissions committee and to make yourself stand out from various other similarly qualified candidates. The main aim of the statement of purpose must be how you can convince the committee that you have the thirst for knowledge and the spark which adds value to your class.
Most of us work hard for the standard tests like the GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and others and completely disregard SOPs until the last moments. The examples in various admission guidebooks are scary and we often wonder how can we write so well. We are often bothered about how we can show we are unique and remarkable or how to pick our way through those endless Do’s and Don’ts. While writing our SOPs, we are again bothered by the endless revisions, and keep wondering if it is good enough. We finally write something in a haste since time’s pressing and we need to meet the application deadline and have various other works like applying-checking forms for errors and completeness, making sure transcripts, recommendations, resume, and work samples go in the right envelopes, collating the application packets and worrying about the transit times. Since the Statement of purpose is done in a hurry, we just do a quick scan for some obvious mistakes and send the documents for the offer letter.
This way is the practical example of how people fail at their chances of admission. A good Statement of Purpose improves your chances of getting admission to the school or university of your choice and sometimes also compensate for the weaker portions like less-than-perfect grades of the application. A bad SOP can, however, drag you down even if you have very strong documents.
So, you must invest enough time to submit a thoughtful, polished and well-written essay to boost your chances of admission. This could also be used as an opportunity to get a better understanding of who you are.
